Gregory Botts has been an artist in NYC since going to School of Visual Arts in 1970. He had 10 one person shows at the Anne Plumb Gallery in SoHo through the 80’s up to 1993.
In 1994 he had a one person show at Tony Shafrazi Gallery, NYC. and in 2004 he showed at the Salander O’Reilly Gallery, NYC.
Since then he has shown across the country from East Hampton, NY, Atlanta, GA, Santa Fe, NM and Santa Barbara, California.
Driving from NYC to a teaching jobs at UCSB in CA each spring in the 1980's he began “Painting Along the Road” He has continued teaching painting in Colorado, at the Anderson Ranch and in Telluride.
In 2011 he made a Stations Project for The Cathedral of St John the Divine, in NYC.

He has written a book of Poetry titled, clouds, leaves, waves., with a forward by Harold Bloom.

He divides his time between studios in NYC and New Mexico. He is a member of the National Academy since 1994.
